The Joint Recording is a Brooklyn based boutique studio specializing in production, recording, mixing and mastering. Our brand new facility is hand designed by sound specialists - from our floated recording booth to custom sound treatment. Simen and Mike's 15 years of combined recording experience allows for full control over every aspect of production. 

Mike Naz - Mike Naz always takes into great consideration the main message an artist is trying to convey in their song. “As a mixer, I believe it is my job to take what I am presented with and bring it to the ultimate level, while preserving all of the emotion, feeling, and vibe that the song originally had. I visualize what I expect the mix to be- where I want everything to sit, and then I won’t stop until I achieve the exact sound I am looking for.”

Simen Solvang - Simen is a producer and engineer specializing in impeccable vocal tracking and high level drum programming. Simen graduated from Northeastern University with a BA in Music Industry and studied recording arts under legendary jazz engineer Michael Perez. Simen has worked as an engineer with top teir jazz artists including Esperanza Spalding, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Billy Hart. Simen's comprehensive understanding of audio software and sound mechanics gives him full agency during every step of the production process, resulting in superior quality records.
